Anguilla Island, Caribbean Sea


Located in the Eastern Caribbean Sea, Anguilla Island is an overseas territory of British and is positioned at a distance of 19 km north from the island of Saint Martin and 100 km North-West of Saint Kitts. It is the most northerly of the Leeward Island in the Lesser Antilles. With an area of 91 sq.km and population of 13, 600 (2006 estimate), it is one of the top tourist destinations of the world magnetizing tourists with its enigmatic and charismatic earthy beauty of nature.
Major Attractions:
Prickly Pear Cays: It is a small uninhabited island situated 6 miles from the Road bay of Anguilla. It is a best spot for swimming and snorkeling in a less crowded beach, the chalky sands and peacock blue water of the beach is strikingly beautiful. You have to hop a sailboat to reach this place. Abundant of pink shells and aquatic animals can be seen in here. Restaurants and bar are also present in less number, so spending time in here will not be problematic.
Shola Bay East: Out of the 33 stunning beaches in Anguilla the top spot is held by Shola bay East because of its 2 miles strand of perfect white sand. It is named as the best beach in the world by many magazines and travelling agencies. Several restaurants and cottages are lined along the beach with live music and rum punch. 
Meads bay: This scenic beach is wonderful for swimming and is very calm for small children. IT is a mile long beach and various luxurious hotels and resorts are located on the beach side offering various mouth watering culinary delights and sea foods.
Rendezvous Bay: It is one of the popular beaches in the island with soft sand & crystalline blue water and once it was the battle field between the French and the English for the colonial control over the island.
Other major attractions include; Shoal bay, Little Bay, Sandy island, Cove Bay, Savannah Bay, captains Bay, Heritage Collection (collections of Anguillan History) etc.
Things to do:
Sailing and Boat racing: Anguilla hosts many sailing competitions and boat races as sailing is the national sport of this island. The racing season begins from May-August which is followed by late night parties and entertainments. Large number of people comes here to see the competitions and make it into a grand success.


Swimming with Dolphins: It is one of the most astounding activities where you can share your space while swimming with the majestic dolphins. Dolphin Discovery Anguilla is one of the most pictorial swim with dolphin facilities in the Caribbean. Some of the popular dolphin activities include; dorsal tow and the foot push.
